KIRSTY PEART - Writer and Producer
A creative producer and graduate of MEDIA’s EAVE and UCLA’s Professional Producing Programme, HTV’s media graduate scheme and Bristol University’s Postgraduate Film & TV department, with production experience in film and television from multi-camera live studio to single-camera shoots, in several countries including Middle East; Afghanistan; Morocco; France; Italy.
Kirsty is also a writer, co-writing for children and family entertainment with Jess Kedward (see below for credits).
As a producer at Gritstone Entertainment, Kirsty is currently developing three live action/cgi family feature films: COW ON THE RUN; SUBBUTEO MAN and GRISELLA (see PROJECTS for further details).
Past work includes: Working Title TV pilot CUL DE SAC for Adrian Sturges’ Picture Farm; HBO comedy channel pilot MORNING RELIEF; THE WITCHCRAFT CONSPIRACY, feature film in development with Margaret Matheson & Little Wing, selected by Moonstone and EAVE; super low budget and ground-breaking television for HTV, United Artists Communications and General Cable with shows such as Pump TV 60 mins x 52 live studio-based show starring Sacha Baron Cohen and TellyWest 60 mins x daily live studio-based show starring Jason Bradbury. Produced commercial shoots in Abu Dhabi, London, South Africa and the Seychelles.
Short films including:- SEND IN THE CLOWNS (writer/director Henry Naylor) shot in Morocco winner of LA’s Mockumentary Festival; VEILS (writer/director Dan Susman) short film selected for Raindance; Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival; Tirana; Rushes Newcomer Selection; Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival; Gooseberries Don’t Dance, 35mm x 15 mins, selected for British Council’s First Film Foundation screenings in Los Angeles and New York; The Gingerbread House 35 mm x 30 mins short film / Directed by Louise Radinger; Awarded The Best of British Shorts selection in British Short Film Festival 1994 & Le Prix de la Ville de Grenoble, Festival du Court/Metrage 1994.
Kirsty is also UK Producer of WordTheatre® - giving voice to great writing. www.wordtheatre.com An innovative, internationally esteemed, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring empathy, curiosity and conversation through powerful and entertaining performances, both live and recorded, of the world’s best contemporary literature. Renowned actors inhabit and illuminate the texts – predominantly short stories but occasionally poems, essays, memoir and novel excerpts – of world-class authors who are frequently present to engage with audiences in post-performance Q & A’s followed by book signings.

TV WORK includes: Currently scripting ASTRO BOY REBOOT for Cake and Caribara and SUPERBUILDERS for a Chinese/French partnership. Developed an original animated TV series with a major U.S. studio for the tween market; in 2013 became the first English writers to work with SHANGHAI MEDIA on a bible and pilot script for STONE BONE ROCKS - based on a best-selling Chinese comic. Several commissions and pilot episodes for Brightbox Creative and Red Kite Animation. Previous work includes CASPER SCARE SCHOOL for Cartoon Network, with Classic Media/Moonscoop and TF1; credits on international hit shows ANGELINA BALLERINA and THOMAS AND FRIENDS (HIT Entertainment). Other commissions and credits with Disney, Papa Loewe, HIT Entertainment, HBO Online, Exodus Film Group, Klasky-Csupo and UK independent companies.
